EU AI Act rules bring new labels and disclosures for synthetic content across Europe. Providers of systems that directly engage with users must inform them when they are interacting with AI. Such notices are not required if the artificial origin of the interaction is obvious to a reasonably informed individual. Additionally, providers generating synthetic text, audio, images, or videos are mandated to include machine-readable marks. These marks should, as far as technically possible, enable the detection of AI-manipulated or AI-produced content.
