Nepal projects a need for approximately $4.78 billion to rebuild after the catastrophic floods caused by the Bhote Koshi River. This figure was published by the government through its Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment following the disaster on August 26. The assessment indicates that direct physical damages amount to roughly $1.8 billion, with economic losses estimated at about $883 million. Officials clarified that these numbers encompass damages across social, productive, and infrastructure sectors. The floods impacted communities and vital infrastructure in districts such as Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and others.

Months after STARCARES renovated the sports court at Ban Nam Lat School in Sukhothai, Thailand, it now serves students and nearby residents daily. Oman inflation reached 3.4% in August 2026 as transport and food prices increased. Among the main categories, transport experienced the steepest annual increase, rising by 8.5% from August 2025. The United Arab Emirates has announced plans to invest €40 billion in Germany across several priority sectors.
