Air Arabia Expands Its Network with a Major New Route Connecting Sharjah and Amman

    October 9, 2026

SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to introduce nonstop flights linking Sharjah International Airport and Amman City Airport beginning November 15, 2026. Operating four times per week, this addition broadens the airline’s connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia operates flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, which serves Jordan’s capital. The new route provides travelers with an alternative Amman airport option via the airline’s Sharjah network, further extending its scheduled Jordanian services.

Air Arabia adds new Sharjah to Amman City Airport route
Air Arabia expands UAE-Jordan air links with a new Sharjah-Amman service.

Flights on this route will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight G9 169 departs Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return flight, G9 170, departs Amman at 11:20 a.m. and reaches Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Air Arabia has made tickets available for booking through its website, call center, and travel agents.

This new service further enhances the existing Jordan routes operated by Air Arabia Group. The group currently connects Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi with both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Additionally, flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport are part of its network. The new Sharjah route will extend the group’s connections to Amman City Airport from another UAE departure point while continuing its current services to Jordan.

Air Arabia broadens access to two airports in Amman

Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, highlighted that the new route offers travelers a second airport option in the Jordanian capital. He emphasized that the service will enhance convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between the UAE and Jordan. Announced on October 8, the route’s launch is scheduled more than a month later, in November, and will operate alongside existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport.

Earlier in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched its own service to Amman City Airport. That route, which began on May 1, features three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. With flights to both Amman airports, travelers from the UAE capital now have two options. In April, Air Arabia stated that these two Abu Dhabi routes together offered 10 weekly flights to Amman at the time of the second airport’s launch.

Sharjah route adds four weekly flights connecting Jordan’s capital

The upcoming Sharjah service will utilize flight numbers G9 169 and G9 170, operating on a fixed four-day weekly schedule. The airline’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are part of its broader network. Passengers can also enjoy services like SkyTime streaming, SkyCafe onboard meals, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Tickets for the Amman City Airport flights are available for purchase through the airline’s various sales channels ahead of the November 15 launch.

This expansion strengthens Air Arabia Group’s Jordan network through multiple UAE and Egyptian departure points. From Sharjah, passengers will have direct flights to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. The group’s Abu Dhabi operation also serves both airports, while Alexandria provides a direct link to Amman City Airport. The November launch will see four additional weekly flights between Sharjah and Jordan’s capital, further enhancing the group’s regional connectivity.
