Air Arabia is set to resume its daily nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This route will reestablish a direct air connection between the UAE emirate and the coastal city in Kerala. The airline announced the route’s return on October 6, with tickets now available for booking. The daily flights will reconnect Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, the reinstated route will offer passengers direct daily flights linking the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is located on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. The airline’s October 6 statement did not include specific departure and arrival times, nor did it specify the aircraft type or flight numbers for this daily service. These details were not present in the latest announcement either.
Adel Al Ali, the group CEO of Air Arabia, expressed his satisfaction with the route’s revival, emphasizing that the daily flights will provide travelers with a convenient link between the two cities. He added that the airline remains committed to delivering dependable travel options and fostering community connections. The decision to bring back the route was driven by the demand for travel between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, though the airline did not release passenger forecasts or traffic estimates.
Daily flights restore Kerala connection
The Kozhikode route complements Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently includes destinations such as Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The reintroduction of flights to India will expand this network from October 16. Since beginning operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its UAE bases.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023. At that time, the route operated three times weekly using Airbus A320 aircraft, with flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The upcoming restart aims to increase the frequency to a daily schedule, though the airline has not confirmed if the previous flight numbers or departure times will be used again.
Bookings now open ahead of October restart
Passengers can secure their seats on the resumed flights via Air Arabia’s website, its call center, or through travel agencies. These booking options were confirmed when the airline announced the October return. The statement did not specify when the service was discontinued or the reasons behind the interruption. It also did not provide information on fares, detailed flight schedules, or aircraft assignments for the new daily operation. The airline’s focus was on announcing the restart date, frequency, and the city pair involved.
The route’s return on October 16 marks nearly three years since the initial launch of the Kozhikode service. It will once again offer a nonstop link between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline has confirmed daily flights from the restart date, other schedule specifics remain undisclosed. Travelers interested in exact timings, flight numbers, or fares should consult the airline’s booking channels for current details. No additional changes to the route have been announced by the airline at this time.
